The Church Mice Quilters began in 2007 as a small class of ladies who gathered at the little Baptist church in Wolf Lake, Indiana to learn to quilt. The group has steadily grown and those ladies have become accomplished quilters.
Currently the club has about 30 members and meets monthly. We are dedicated to improving our skills and providing encouragement and motivation to each other in a positive environment. We usually meet on the second Thursday of the month. The day begins with open sewing time at 9am for anyone who wishes to do that. Supper is served at 5:30 followed by our meeting in the sanctuary at 6:30 which includes a lesson, show and tell and any pertinent club business. Quilters are welcome or take part in any portion of the day’s events.
We participate in our own ministry of making “Comfort Quilts” for people the church is ministering to or that our members identify as having a need.
We participate in two retreats in Shipshewana each year and have a three day come-and-go retreat at the church each July in combination with our club garage sale. We also display our quilts at the Floral Hall during the NOble Co 4H Fair.
